‘The WEST,’ 93.5 FM is a 25,000 watt radio station broadcasting from Ruidoso, New Mexico. KWES serves a large, loyal audience in Ruidoso, Capitan, Carrizozo, Lincoln and Hondo in Lincoln County, and Cloudcroft, Mescalero and Tularosa in Otero County. For 23 years, KWES has been this region’s top rated station playing great country music. KWES consistently increases its loyal audience by promoting aggressively.
‘The Big Mike Wild West Morning Show,’ a true regional favorite, broadcasts live Mornings on KWES from 6 to 10 am Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 8 to Noon, Big Mike is teamed with “Fuzz” Herron. Whether they take on local events or simply update the temperature, listeners can count on starting their day with a laugh. Known for their great music and exciting give-aways, Big Mike & Fuzz always keep it interesting!
Afternoons with Jackson Crow are Live and Local on KWES from 3 pm to 6 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays noon to 3pm. Jackson offers highlights of the day with his own brand of wry humor. Because KWES is live, we get the listening audience involved on the request lines, with PSA’s and contest giveaways. Sunday mornings from 6 am to 9 am, you can tune in to “The American Country Countdown with Bob Kingsley.”
KWES is the only radio station in the area with a local news department. Award-winning News Director Jim Kalvelage delivers 5 minute newscasts Monday through Friday at 8 am, Noon and 5 pm along with :90 second newscasts at the top of the hour from 6 am to 6 pm. KWES is the station people turn to during weather, fire or other local emergencies and public service announcements.
